Volunteer Fire Service

Raymond F. Maguire is a decorated 27-year veteran of the fire service; he has held every line office in the Freeport Fire Department including chief instructor and chief of department and currently serves as the executive director of the department. The Freeport Fire Department is a volunteer force of 302 firefighters who respond to an excess of 2,300 runs a year. Ray is an Honorary Battalion Chief of the FDNY and is past president of the Fire Chiefs Council of Nassau County, N.Y. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Nassau County Fire & EMS Academies.
