A member of the Hico Volunteer Fire Department was killed Tuesday when he lost control of his fire truck responding to a fire in Hamilton County.
Clint Dewayne Rice, 28, of Hico, was driving a 1968 Heil tanker truck to a grass fire on Farm-to-Market Road 219 at about 2:30 p.m. when he lost control rounding a turn, causing the truck to overturn, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Rice was ejected from the truck when it flipped and was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said.
