Duty Death: Peter G Neilson - [Kenockee twp. , Michigan]
Kenockee Twp. Mich. — Peter G. Neilson, past fire chief with 25 years of service to this community has passed away while on a medical emergency call.
At 22:21 the fire department was dispatched to a medical emergency in the 8000 block of Metcalf Rd. Peter Neilson had entered the home and was talking to family members when he slowly sat down and became unconscious.
As department members and Paramedics came to his assistance they found him with difficulty breathing. A few minutes later he went into full arrest; defibulator and advanced life support measures took place.
Peter was transported to the hospital and could not be revived.
A Fire department and full Military honors are planned. Details of viewing with Kaatz Funeral home in Yale Mi. are incomplete at this time.
