Miss. fire chief dies at house fire


Duty Death: Charlie Fraley - [Macon, Mississippi]

The local fire chief in Macon died Saturday while fighting a fully involved structure fire.

Charlie Fraley, who has been fire chief for around twenty-five years complained of shortness of breath around six in the morning. This occured shortly after he responded to a fire at the Noxubee Votec Center.

He was taken to the Macon Noxubee General Hospital where he passed away. According to Assistant Fire Chief Jim Robbins, 65 year old Fraley had been going through some medical trouble.
