LUOYANG CITY, China — A city in China is adding a jet-propelled water cannon to its firefighting arsenal.

The fire department in Luoyang City spent more than $461,000 on the new apparatus that carries the cannon, which uses the same turbo engines used in Chinese fighter jets, according to WBBH.

The cannon can spray four tons of water per minute and is designed to propel the water at high enough speeds to block surrounding oxygen from feeding the fire.
