We wanted to know what you, as a firefighter, were most thankful for. We received a lot of heartfelt and surprisingly hilarious answers. Here are a few of our favorites.

“Being able to go home safely at the end of each call!” — Abby Harper Hutchinson

"Thirty-five years (the last 12 as a battalion chief) without getting any of my gang injured along the way." — Ron Linstrom

"My career and opportunity to serve." —Reggie Freeman

“My family and the community that is there to support us and help in any way they can.” —Donna Renick

“The guy behind me.” —Ryan Klackle

“Being able to do the job and help others in any way.” —Cary Blue
