Ill. fire marshal pushes for CO detectors

The Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois state fire marshal wants residents to install carbon monoxide detectors as the new year begins.

Fire Marshal David B. Foreman says detectors give families a chance to flee homes with carbon monoxide leaks before it's too late. State law has required carbon monoxide detectors in homes since 2007.
