Fire dept. called back to scene to help person suffering from respiratory problems after discovering dead man

The Bismarck Tribune

ATWATER, Minn. — Kandiyohi County sheriff's officials say the death of a man found in a fish house is apparently the result of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Authorities received a 911 call about 9 a.m. Sunday from a friend who found the man in his fish house on Lake Elizabeth near Atwater. Sidney Ray Schmidt, 40, of Gibbon, was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Fire Department was called back to the scene to help the person who had discovered the man. That person was suffering from respiratory problems and was taken to the hospital.
