Job Description
|
| Under general supervision, to engage in fire fighting and fire prevention activities in protecting life and property, to operate and maintain certain fire fighting apparatus and equipment, to set up hoses, ladders and to use equipment to fight fires, to participate in fire drills and study fire fighting techniques, and to do related work as required.

Age 18Education High school graduate or equivalent, EMT , Ca Class B licenseExperience two years as a volunteer
Additional Requirement :
The following minimum qualifications must be met by appointment date:
1. High school graduate or equivalent
2. Possess a valid California driver's license - Class B or firefighter restricted
3. Possess a valid California Emergency Medical Technician-D Certificate
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:
4(a) Fire Fighter I Certification or completion of a recognized FFI Academy as conducted and verified in writing by a college/university of record or equivalent; or
(b) Volunteer Certification with two years' experience as a volunteer or paid fire fighter or 36 semester units for Fire Science or equivalent; and "Pump Operations for Volunteers" Certificate or its equivalent issued by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Salary Information

| Salary: $2,648.00- 3,218.00 per month |

All applications must be made on City of Willows Application for Employment forms. Only 100 applications will be made available; application period: December 24, 2007 through January 25, 2008. All applications must be received prior to 5 p.m. on January 25, 2008. Postmarks are not acceptable. Applications will be available at the Civic Center, 201 North Lassen Street, Willows, CA,between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the application period.
Applications must be accompanied by a copy of all certificates relative to minimum qualifications. Resumes shall be attached thereto. DMV printout is also required with application. Applicants are responsible for ensuring delivery by deadline.
