Job Description
SRP’s Navajo Generating Station located in Page, Arizona, is seeking qualified applicants for Fire Specialist that wish to pursue a meaningful career with a premier provider of electricity while enjoying small-town life on the shores of beautiful Lake Powell. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to fulfill career objectives while enjoying an environment full of outdoor activities such as boating, skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking and biking, with easy access to national parks and monuments including the Grand Canyon, Zion & Bryce National Parks. Job description: Conducts/oversees insurance inspection of Navajo Generating Station facilities to recognize and alleviate fire discrepancies and/or inoperative fire prevention systems in compliance with pertinent local State & Federal laws/regulations. Responsible for all plant fire protection including inspection, testing, procurement and administration of contracts with fire protection vendors. Plans oversees emergency response team (ERT) training, oversees the maintenance of fire truck and ambulance vehicles and associated equipment.

Job Requirements
  • Education High school diploma and college level courses
  • Experience 2 years
  • Additional Requirement :
    Recommended experience: High School diploma or GED plus college level courses in report preparation, public safety, investigation procedures, emergency management and business administration knowledge of fire science and fire protection practices, including Navajo Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) codes. Coordinates all facility inspection and audits dealing with fire protection. 5 years experience in any combination of loss control, including power plant operation/maintenance as a supervisor in fire service. 2 years functioning in a position requiring cooperation with any of the following: * Fire control agencies. * Regulatory agencies. * Safety organizations. The applicant should hold a state approved firefighter I & II, OSHA 40 hr. firefighter, hazmat & confined space tech level certification and EMT. The applicant should hold a CDL for operation of the fire truck.

    Salary: $4584.00 – 6784.00 per month
