ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The municipality is accepting job applications this week from people who want to be firefighters, city officials said Tuesday.
Applications will be accepted through Friday. The testing process will begin Sept. 15.
It has been more than two years since the last fire academy, and city officials expect to hire about 30 new firefighters.
People who want to apply can do so online by going to www.muni.org and selecting "job opportunities," or by going to the fire department's Web site at www.muni.org/fire.
