APCO Announces Publication Partnership

Elsevier Public Safety to Publish "Public Safety Communications – APCO Bulletin"

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International announced today Elsevier Public Safety as the official publisher of "Public Safety Communications — APCO Bulletin."

"APCO International is excited to partner with Elsevier Public Safety on the production of our magazine," said APCO International President Wanda McCarley. "We are confident this partnership will produce the best source of information for public safety communications professionals and will enhance Elsevier's current involvement in the public safety industry."

The agreement between APCO International and Elsevier Public Safety is a long-term agreement, in which Elsevier Public Safety will publish, produce, market, promote and sell the publication. APCO International will continue to define the editorial vision and content of the publication.

"Elsevier Public Safety is thrilled to be named the official publisher of Public Safety Communications," said Jeff Berend, vice president/publisher with Elsevier. "APCO, its Board and 15,000 members are leaders in public safety. This partnership will allow us to help APCO grow its membership via our other award-winning publications — JEMS, Law Officer, FireRescue and Wildland Firefighter. We are the only publisher reaching all these segments, now including communications, and this will bring value to professionals and vendors alike."

The first issue under this partnership will be the September 2006 issue of "Public Safety Communications — APCO Bulletin."
