Conn. dept. gives pumper to Vt. force

The West Corinth dept. has been using equipment dating back to the 1970s

TORRINGTON, Conn. — The city's fire department plans to donate a 1989 fire engine pumper to a small department in West Corinth, Vt.

The engine is "pretty much out of service" since being replaced 12 years ago, Fire Chief Gary Brunoli said, and there's not much of a market to selling the vehicles because "everyone's looking for enclosed cab."

The engine the city wants to donate has an open cab in the back, Brunoli said.
