Ind. firefighter faces demotion for Facebook video

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Does the punishment fit the crime? That is the question many South Bend firefighters are asking after one of their own was demoted.

The firefighter now faces a possible 30-day suspension for taking cell phone video of the latest Park Jefferson Apartment Fires, something South Bend Fire Chief Howard Buchanon said goes against the duty manual and the department's newly implemented Facebook policy.

According to the new Facebook policy, firefighters cannot use their cell phones when they are working an emergency call.
