Firefighter hurt in 2-story fall while battling blaze

Seven fire departments responded to the 2-alarm fire; the injured firefighter was treated and released

LIBERTY, Mo. — A firefighter was injured Wednesday morning after falling 10 feet from a second-story balcony while fighting a hotel blaze.

As many as 50 people were forced to evacuate as a hotel was consumed by a two-alarm fire, calling upon firefighters from seven different Mo. cities to help, according to the Kansas City Star.

The firefighter who fell from the balcony has been treated at the hospital and released. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
