Firefighters rescue man from burning home
The man is now in critical condition and in the ICU
PITTSBURGH — Firefighters rescued a man from the basement of a burning North Side home Thursday night.
Officials said the fire began at a home on Osgood Street just before 10 p.m. Firefighters said Ronnie Mickle was not breathing when he was rescued from the home and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He’s in the intensive care unit at UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition.Mickle's granddaughter said she was inside of the home when the blaze erupted.
"We were eating dinner and my mom told me to go downstairs to see what was going on. I went downstairs and I saw all the flames coming up the steps and I started yelling to tell everybody to come outside because the house was on fire," Madison Malloy said.
