JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed the rooftop of an apartment complex on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people watched and reported the fire as flames started to spread through the building that is currently under construction, according to Action News Jax.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue firefighters search the complex, looking for workers who were believed to be trapped inside. More than 60 firefighters tackled the blaze and had it controlled in 15 minutes.
An official said the cause of the explosive fire may have been propane tanks that were being used during construction.
It is unclear if there were any injuries.
