Video: Firefighter rescues woman from burning apartment

The firefighter broke the woman's bedroom window and pulled her to safety

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — Video shows a Calif. firefighter rescuing a woman from her burning apartment Thursday.

The woman was trapped in her bedroom after the fire broke out, according to KXTV.

The firefighter broke the window the woman's bedroom and was able to rescue her.

Sacramento Metro Fire Capt. Kim Fong said the woman was transported to a burn unit with critical injuries. There are reports that the woman may have also suffered from cardiac arrest.

Capt. Fong said that the unit where the fire started was damaged and three other units suffered smoke and/or water damage. The flames were contained to just one apartment.

A dog and cat were killed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
