The 24-year-old firefighter fell through the attic to the first floor; he injured his shoulder and was taken to a hospital for treatment
TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — A Tennessee firefighter was injured when he fell through an attic while battling a house fire Thursday morning.
NewsChannel5.com reported firefighters with the Tullahoma Fire Department saw smoke coming from the house when they arrived on scene. Fire officials said the fire seemed to have been burning in the attic for a while and the ceiling joints were weakened.
As crews entered the attic, a 24-year-old firefighter fell through the attic to the first floor and injured his shoulder. He was conscious when other firefighters helped move him from the house. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Two people inside the home were awakened by their cat and were able to get out safely.
The fire is being investigated, but it appears to have been accidental.
