Two volunteer fire depts. burglarized

With much of the equipment stolen, authorities are trying to find enough gear to allow them to fight fire

By Wayne Burns

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. — The Alamucha and Center Ridge volunteer fire departments in Lauderdale County were burglarized over the weekend. Both had most of their equipment, besides the trucks, stolen.

It's going to make firefighting difficult for them and they're looking for solutions.

County fire coordinator Allan Dover says Lauderdale County is trying to secure funding sources to replace the equipment that was stolen from both fire stations.

Rich Flankey Rich Flankey Wednesday, December 19, 2012 9:33:45 PM TRY FIRE DOG SERVICES OR they deal with donated gear from all over the us and might be able to help also.
Allan Dover Allan Dover Wednesday, December 19, 2012 11:21:06 PM As usual the media made sound like we can not do our job, but we have replaced most of the equipment and are still in service, but thanks for the resource suggestion.
Cliff Dahl Cliff Dahl Thursday, December 20, 2012 9:48:02 AM Also had a small rural VFD broken into with equipment including radios and light bars stolen here in western South Dakota. Can't believe there are idiots in this world that will steal the "stuff" that could possibly save the life or property of their own family or theirselves. Hopefully these thieves will be captured and dealt with more than a slap on the wrist
