Colo. fire chief dies of apparent heart attack

A coroner believes Chief Don Felton suffered a massive heart attack and died in his office

GUFFEY, Colo. — A Colo. fire chief died at his station office after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Southern Park County Fire Protection District Chief Don Felton, 71, is believed to have had a massive heart attack and died in his office after coming into work on Oct. 27, according to the Flume.

Chief Felton was found by a department volunteer later that day.

He has been fire chief since April 1, and is survived by his wife and three daughters.
