SALEM, Ore. — Dressed in his Class A’s, Salem firefighter Richard Beaudoin stood in the entry of the West Salem Courthouse Athletic Club on Monday morning.
In his hand, he clutched a little blue box with an engagement ring inside.
“I’ve been in so many fires, but this scared me 10 times more than any fire I’ve been in,” he said.
