Monster truck pays tribute to fallen firefighters of 9/11

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The monster trucks are hitting the track this weekend, and there's one truck in town honoring those who serve our country.

Jeremy Slifko is the driver of Backdraft -- a monster truck dedicated to firefighters. He spent Thursday afternoon signing autographs at the Advance Auto Parts store in Independence. Slifko loves driving Backdraft because it's not your normal intimidating engine. It has the race number 343, which represents the 343 firefighters who died on 9/11.

"This truck is the only fire truck that is in competition throughout the entire United States. It's very rewarding to be behind the wheel," Slifko said.
