EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — A 23-year-old firefighter from East Brunswick is shedding his safety gear and battling the intense heat of the Caramoan jungle in his quest for a huge prize: $1 million.
Eddie Fox is one of the 20 contestants competing on the newest season of "Survivor," which kicks off tonight on CBS and pits 10 fans of the long-running reality TV series against 10 former castaways. Borrowing a theme from a previous season, the 26th edition of the show is being dubbed “Fans vs. Favorites.”
If Fox wants to stake claim to the big prize, he’ll have to outwit, outplay and outlast nine other newcomers, along with 10 contestants who have already played the game and know how to lie and scheme and blind-side unsuspecting castaways.
