BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — Four people were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries yesterday after an ambulance crashed into a fire truck on Route 68 in Summit, Butler County, state police said.

At around 3:15 p.m., two emergency medical responders and the patient they were transporting to Butler Memorial Hospital struck the rear of a Lickhill Fire Department truck, which had stopped for a school bus, police said.

One of the firefighters, Jessica Galida, 27, of Butler, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Butler Memorial.

Anna Plesakon, 53, of Hilliard, was in the back of the ambulance attending to patient Olive Knox, 73, of Bruin. The two sustained moderate and minor injuries, respectively, and were taken to Butler Memorial, police said.

The driver of the ambulance, Bill Colins, 52, of Chicora, was treated for minor injuries and later cited for careless driving, police said.

Mr. Colins was driving for Petrolia EMS, according to emergency dispatchers.
