Heart Safe Community Award

Sponsored by the IAFC EMS Section and Physio-Control, a division of Medtronic, this award is presented to Fire Service EMS agencies that have played a key role in improving the quality of out-of-hospital resuscitation efforts. The award will be presented at the 2007 Fire-Rescue Med conference in Las Vegas, April 30-May 2, 2007.

A paramedic was acting according to his training when he moved on to help other victims of a car accident without checking vital signs of a woman who appeared dead but was actually alive, a San Antonio firefighters association official said.
