Job Description
The City of Bay St. Louis is seeking qualified applicants for various fire department positions. Positions will be open for Captain, Lieutenant and entry-level fire service personnel. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Additional Information
Full-time positions work shifts of 24 on/48 off. The department currently has 21 full-time firefighters and an administrative staff of four, serving a growing city of approximately 8,000 residents. Successful candidates will provide first line response to fire, medical, and hazardous materials callouts. Benefits include two (2) weeks paid leave as well as accrued sick and personal leave. Medical and dental insurance is provided at no cost to the employee. Bay St. Louis is a city on the cutting edge, rebuilding from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. One of Mississippi's oldest communities, settled in 1699, the Bay still has an enviable historic charm, superb dining, eclectic shopping and a very strong arts community. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy an incredible waterfront environment for fishing, boating and other water sports. The city is also home to Bay-Waveland Yacht Club, Hollywood Casino resort, and The Bridges golf course, designed by Arnold Palmer. Public and private schools provide an excellent educational environment, with two institutions of higher learning within an easy 15 minute commute. Identified as Mississippi's "West Coast", Bay St. Louis is located between the metropolitan areas of Mobile, AL and New Orleans, LA, giving its residents small town safety and charm with easy access to first class entertainment and art venues. A fellow city employee will assist successful candidates in finding their new home location, and offer any advice needed to quickly become a member of this most hospitable community known as Bay St. Louis, A Place Apart.
