NJ fire lieutenant found dead after shift

CAPE MAY, N.J. — A New Jersey Fire Lieutenant was found dead Monday inside his vehicle.

Cape May Fire Department Lt. Andrew "Andy" K. Boyt, 45, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his personal vehicle parked on the side of a local road after suffering an apparent medical emergency.

Police, EMS and medics responded and began CPR, but Lt. Boyt was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Lt. Boyt had finished a 24-hour shift just a few hours before his body was found, which included fire calls.
