Medtronic Gets Health Canada Approval To Market LIFEPAK 15 Defibrillator/monitor

Tuesday, medical technology company Medtronic, Inc. (MDT: News ) said its wholly-owned subsidiary Physio-Control, Inc. has received approval from Health Canada, the Canadian healthcare industry regulator, to market LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator within Canada. Recently, Medtronic got official license notification for LIFEPAK 15.

Minneapolis-based Medtronic said LIFEPAK 15 provides the widest range of energy dosing up to 360 joules, and the broadest selection of monitoring options available. LIFEPAK 15 includes Masimo Rainbow SET Pulse CO-Oximetry technology for the noninvasive detection of carbon monoxide in the blood, the leading cause of poisoning death in industrialized countries, and methemoglobin in the blood that may result from exposure to certain chemicals and drugs.

LIFEPAK 15 also comprises largest color screen on the market, with a one-touch button that flips the screen to high-contrast SunVue mode for easy viewing in sunlight; along with 10 times the processing speed and three times the battery life of its predecessor, LIFEPAK 12.
