Lighthouse Uniform Co. Testimonials

Dave Anderson
100 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department
B.C.

Dear Lighthouse Uniform Company:

I am writing on behalf of the family, friends and fellow firefighters of Fire Chief Bob Paterson who died in the line of duty on December 18, 1997. Chief Paterson was responding to a vehicle extrication rescue call when the fire truck he was navigating slid on black ice and collided with the back of a logging truck. The force and direction of the crash was such that Chief Paterson suffered extensive internal injuries which resulted in his tragic death the next day.

Bob Paterson was Chief of the 100 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years and had an accumulated service time of 35 years. He was an excellent fire fighter, an outstanding officer, and was forever vigilant to keep safe the men under his command. His legacy in this community will continue to be a high quality fire department that is dedicated to serving this area.

Shortly after Chief Paterson’s death, I was informed of your company’s Fallen Firefighters Program. I wish to commend you for the professionalism, the speed and the dedication which your company exhibited in providing a dress uniform for Chief Paterson. My request came to you late on a Friday afternoon which meant that a number of your staff worked late to get the uniform sent off in time. It was a great comfort, and a fitting tribute for Bob to be laid to rest in a uniform that symbolized his passion and dedication to the fire service for the past 35 years.

On behalf of Chief Paterson’s family, friends and department, I thank you for your service to us in a time of terrible grief. It is good to know that there are people like you who are willing to help bare the burden in times like these.

Gratefully,
Dave Anderson

Steve Mitchell
Aberdeen Fire Department
Aberdeen, Washington

Dear Steve Cohen,

In January of 1995 four Seattle Firefighters were tragically killed in the line of duty and fifteen Aberdeen firefighters attended the subsequent Memorial Service.

My firefighters were very moved by the service and the professionalism that was present at the Memorial Service. In particular, the statement of pride that was evident with the Dress Uniforms that were worn by many of the Firefighters.

When the Aberdeen Firefighters returned from the Memorial, they approached me about obtaining Dress Uniforms. I called different clothiers before calling Lighthouse Uniform, but after I talked with Steve Cohen, I knew which company’s uniforms I would be buying. We set up a time for Steve to personally come to my department and get everyone's sizes.

To make a long story short, Steve sized all of my personnel and showed us what type of uniforms were available. Within two weeks, one of Aberdeen’s retired Fire Chiefs passed away, which prompted the firefighters to decide they wanted dress uniforms immediately.

Steve Cohen and his staff at Lighthouse Uniform recognized our immediate need and within two days, my firefighters were able to attend Fire Chief Orian DeBay’s funeral, dressed with dignity and pride.

This letter is to express my gratitude to the Lighthouse Uniform Company for the tremendous service that they have provided to the Aberdeen Fire Department. I would highly recommend their dress uniform and the service that they provide to anyone.

Sincerely,

Steve Mitchell

Dear Steve,

I wanted to drop you a note just to express our thanks for a job well done. We have been extremely pleased with both the look and performance of Class A’s we have purchased from Lighthouse. The ordering process was simple and thanks to Alphonse, everything that has been received fits as designed. Alphonse has been great to work with and I am sure he has saved numerous headaches during the process.

Thanks again to you and your Lighthouse crew for their dedication to the fire service.

Sincerely,
Carl F. Hall
