The fire science program educates students in the science of fire prevention and control by emphasizing the development of their knowledge and understanding of fire safety, causes, and suppression. Students are prepared for positions as a full-time or volunteer firefighter; industrial safety team member; or employee of an insurance company, government agency, or inspection service.
