Cortland, NY, - Empire Welding & Fabricating Co., Inc. of Cortland, NY has announced the addition of the 21 Gallon Compressed Air Foam Skid Unit to its expanding line of options for the All Terrain Res-Q™ trailers. With the CAFS systems ease of use combined with the All Terrain Res-Q trailer, you have a simple but very effective means of extinguishment for brush fires, remote vehicle fires and almost any fire that requires a small vehicle to reach it.
The 21 gallon Compressed Air Foam System features a 40 cubic ft. air cylinder, 21 gallon pressure vessel, 50 ft. of lay-flat wilderness fire hose, a TFT nozzle body and a smooth bore tip. These are all mounted to a fully welded aluminum frame that is easily lifted and secured to the All Terrain Res-Q trailers. Deployment of an ATV/UTV with the CAFS system in tow on an ATR trailer can reach an outlying area for fire extinguishment or depending upon the foam concentrate percentage, a radiant heat protection blanket of foam on exposed structures, within minutes.
“Empire Welding introduced the 21 gallon CAFS option this past September at the 21st Annual Pittsburgh Fire Rescue & EMS Expo held in Pittsburgh, PA,” said Jeff Holcomb, manager of Empire Welding. “The 21 gallon CAFS option for the All Terrain Res-Q trailer will allow fire departments all across the United States to have remote rescue along with a very quick and effective means of fire extinguishment.”
