Hackney Emergency Vehicles Introduces the Dupo Illinois FD Hackney Heavey Rescue
The Dupo Illinois Fire Department has taken delivery of a Hackney DFC1164R Heavy Rescue. The 11-compartment body with recessed roof is mounted on a Spartan Advantage flat floor cab and chassis. The Advantage has a turbo-charged, charge air cooled Cummins ISL-370. Hackney's drop-pinch frame technology provides 40" full height compartment depths on all compartments forward of the rear axle. The recessed roof features two storage compartments and a dedicated recessed location for the light tower. For technical rescue assistance 10,000 lb. receivers were installed on the front, rear and sides of the body with 12VAC connectors for a portable winch. The winch is stored in the front receiver behind a drop-down bumper for easy removal and relocation to other sites around the apparatus. A 25kw PTO generator was installed to power a NightScan light tower with six 900watt MagnaFire lamps that have multi-directional positioning capability. Two MagnaFire tripod floodlights were installed on the left rear body. A 200-ft, 10/4-cord reel and multiple power outlets complete the 120/240VAC electrical system. For service support a 6000-psi Fill Enclosure and cascade control panel is provided for on-scene SCBA refill capability. A 6000-psi hose reel is connected to the fill station to provide air for trench rescue operations.
