CHIEF Grants Announces Tremendous Success in Securing Funding for Fire Departments across the Country in 2005

More than $8.8 million in AFGP Grant Money Awarded to CHIEF Grants Students

CHARLOTTE, NC  – CHIEF Grants received the news from 101 fire departments that they were successful in receiving grant money from the 2005 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP) administered by the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with FEMA and the U.S. Fire Administration.  What did these 101 fire departments have in common?  These fire departments received grant training and consultation from CHIEF Grants, a grant writing assistance program.

“CHIEF Grants assisted 101 departments that were winners with a total collective value of their grant projects of more than $8.8 million,” says Kurt Bradley, the CHIEF Grants Consultant.  “We are thrilled that we were able to help so many people receive critical funding for their departments.”

One department, the Davenport Fire Department in Florida received a grant of $66,319.00 from the 2005 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.  The Davenport Fire department will use funds for the purchase of new radio equipment and structural firefighting gear.

“We would like to thank Kurt Bradley of Chief Grants,” says Don Pelt Davenport’s Fire Chief. “Kurt was instrumental in assisting our department in writing the grant application. This was Davenport’s third attempt at the Assistance to Firefighters Grant.”

With FY05 funds, 5,500 awards totaling nearly $600 million in direct assistance was awarded to thousands of fire departments throughout the country.  AFGP assists local fire departments and stand-alone rescue/EMS services to purchase firefighting equipment, fund firefighter health and safety programs, enhance emergency medical services programs, and conduct fire education and prevention programs throughout the United States.  AFGP is administered by the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the Department’s United States Fire Administration.

“Last year, CHIEF Grants’ success far surpassed our expectations,” says Jeff Tousa, President of CHIEF.  “Each year, our success rate increases exponentially so we are looking forward to seeing another good year in 2006.”

Back by popular demand, CHIEF Grants is offering a coast-to-coast schedule of Grant Writing Seminars designed to provide law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, rescue, and local government agency departments with the skills and training necessary to write better grant applications and win government funding.

Interested people can register online at www.CHIEFgrants.com/register.  CHIEF offers a “100-percent money back guarantee” to seminar attendees who are not satisfied with the seminar as it is guaranteed to improve your grant writing skills.
