Robotic FX, Inc. Announces Integration of the ChemRAE Chemical Detection System

WORTH, IL – Robotic FX, Inc. has announced the integration of the ChemRAE chemical detection system into the Negotiator Tactical Surveillance Robot platform. According to RAE Systems, manufacturer of the ChemRAE chemical detection system, “ChemRAE is the latest in state-of-the-art handheld Chemical Warfare Agent detection and identification systems. It is RAE Systems' next generation sensor technology based on tested and proven Open Loop Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology. The ChemRAE uses an improved Ion Mobility Cell™, which provides enhanced selectivity and sensitivity. It is designed to detect Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs). ChemRAE is equipped with two detection libraries for detection of a wide range of chemical weapons and toxic industrial chemicals of interest to first responders.”

ChemRAE is scheduled to replace the Negotiator robot’s current chemical detection system the ChemSentry, which is no longer being produced, by summer of 2007. Official pricing has yet to be released.

“Although it is unfortunate that the ChemSentry is no longer being produced, ChemRAE will prove to be an excellent replacement,” said Eric Weber, research and development engineer for Robotic FX, Inc. “The process of integrating, ChemRAE went absolutely flawlessly and initial testing has been met with excellent results,” he further commented.

The Negotiator Tactical Surveillance Robot is currently used by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and has had proven success with search & rescue operations, SWAT teams, HAZMAT teams and Homeland Defense. For more information, please visit our website at www.roboticfx.com.
