SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – DHS (Department of Homeland Security) is now accepting grant applications for their “Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response” (SAFER) program. These grants have been offered to assist fire departments with acquiring the staff necessary to better meet the demands of NFPA 1710 / 1720. Perhaps the most difficult part of the application process is assembling accurate NFPA 1710 response statistics from existing fire record management systems.
