Saint Petersburg, FL. – Animated Data, Inc. announces the development of new staffing models to be released with the next version upgrade of NFIRS 5 Alive. “With personnel costs dwarfing all other fire department budget categories it’s important to ensure resources match requirements.” says Michael Fay, President of Animated Data, Inc. “By comparing historical demand, complexity and incident overlap, it’s possible to anticipate requirements.”
The new staffing models compare a baseline of personnel per incident against total fire department staffing demand. Three staffing graphs animate requirements by hour of the day, day of week and month. A second series of animated graphs illustrates station activity by monitoring responses into and out of assigned station areas. The staffing models provide information about the gross number of personnel required while the station activity models provide information about where personnel are needed.
No data entry is required. Both the staffing and station activity models can be created solely from the same NFIRS 5 transaction files each fire department submits to the state. This means NFIRS 5 Alive is fully compatible with any NFIRS 5 software package.
NFIRS 5 Alive is an analytical software application providing over 5,500 “click-to-run” reporting formats. All reports are stored in the software and may be printed, converted into web pages, dropped into office applications or projected for meetings.
