New Fabric Offers High Visibility Protection from Flash Fire and Electric Arc
ATLANTA, Geor. - TenCate Protective Fabrics introduced TECASAFE HI-VIS fabrics at the National Safety Council in San Diego, CA in November.
TECASAFE HI-VIS fabrics have been engineered to combine built-in protection from electric arc and flash fire with enhanced daytime visibility. TenCate fabric engineering expertise and the use of an innovative blend of fibers results in a unique set of advantages covered by several patent applications. TECASAFE HI-VIS fabrics conform to the NFPA 70E standard at Hazard Risk Category II level.
TECASAFE HI-VIS is designed with the wearer in mind. It is a protective fabric that is soft to the touch, cool to wear, breathable and manages moisture by absorbing and dissipating it away from the skin.
Garments made from TECASAFE HI-VIS fabric provide better durability and longer life when compared to other fabrics currently used for this application. TECASAFE HI-VIS fabric is ideally suited to industrial laundries.
Since TECASAFE HI-VIS fabrics are inherently flame resistant (FR), they can replace the traditional high visibility FR modacrylic vest with NOMEX® worn underneath. The FR protection properties are not added on as a chemical finish but are fully embedded in the fiber blend. This means the FR protection in TECASAFE HI-VIS fabrics will not wash out or wear out.
TECASAFE HI-VIS will be available in high visibility bright yellow.
