The GETAC M230 Rugged Notebook PC Offers Unique Graphic Features and Military-Standard Durability

Powerful Ultra-Slim Unit is Designed for Most Demanding ESRI Software Applications

SAN DIEGO - Designed on the outside to go toe-to-toe with the elements and protect against the inevitable wear and tear of daily mobile use, GETAC’s new M230 Rugged Laptop PC has all the power and other features inside that appeal to users of ESRI Graphic Information Systems (GIS) software applications.

Introduced in January as the successor to the popular GETAC rugged M220 notebook PC, the M230 combines high performance and a laundry list of state-of-the-art built-ins and options in a rugged, ultra-portable slim design that meets MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards for durability under extreme conditions.

GETAC had ESRI software users in mind in offering a large 14-inch XGA or optional 15-inch SXGA TFT LCD high resolution display – the largest screen available in a rugged laptop format. ESRI software users will likewise benefit from GETAC’s optional ATI M54 chip, which provides all the additional power a user needs for graphical applications.

“The M230 combines the largest screen on the market today with state-of-the-art technology, the latest security and wireless features, and the flexibility to customize the unit to match specific needs and applications,” said Jessica Pasch, GETAC Business Development Manager. “We believe ESRI users will find that the GETAC M230 is an ideal platform for GIS applications.”

The M230 also provides more storage (up to 120GB) than competitive models and the ability to accommodate a wide range of plug-ins. Inside, it offers an IntelR Centrino Mobile Technology and Core? Duo L2400 1.66 GHz processor, 2MB L2 cache, and 512MG DDR2 (expandable to 4GB). Outside, options include a sunlight readable display, touch screen, waterproof membrane keyboard, TPM 1.2 and Kensington lock security features, smart card reader and other upgrades. The M230 accommodates a variety of wireless options and an optional GPS receiver. The entire unit is enclosed in an attractive magnesium alloy case.

In addition to the M230, GETAC offers a complete line of rugged notebook, tablet PC and handheld mobile computers expressly designed and custom manufactured to be durable enough to withstand the most challenging environments facing the physically toughest jobs that people in military, industrial, law enforcement, public safety, utility, telecommunications and field sales and service jobs perform. These jobs routinely place computer systems into situations where dirt, dust, water, motion, vibration, temperature and other factors would severely damage or disable commercial-grade devices.
