Tempest Fireco Towers Announces Completion of NFPA 1901 Compliance Review

FRESNO, CA – Tempest Fireco Towers, LLC announced successful completion of a compliance review for their pneumatically telescoping towers in accordance with the requirements of NFPA 1901. In March 2008, the company was informed that its’ vertical tower product meets criteria set forth by the NFPA to qualify for the Total Vehicle Assessment Program (TVA), established by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

TVA is a multi-part inspection program consisting of the following elements: Initial audit, Third-party testing, Apparatus inspection, Periodic manufacturing process audit and Yearly or biannual follow up.

According to UL, their third-party Certificate of Inspection for TVA allows greater confidence that apparatus was built and inspected in accordance with the applicable requirements of NFPA 1901 for manufacturers and purchasers than self declaration. Vehicle manufacturers get the added assurance that component supplier (vendor) products also meet the requirements of the Standard. Manufacturers can rely on UL — the standard in safety — to provide a comprehensive certification system to help manufacturers and, ultimately, the departments who purchase their vehicles be certain that compliance with the NFPA 1901 Standard is met and maintained.

Tempest Fireco Towers, LLC is a joint venture between Tempest Technology, Inc., and Fireco Components of Italy, to market and distribute the Fireco product line in North America. Fireco Components is the world leader in the development and production of pneumatically telescoping towers for lighting, communications and data gathering. Tempest Fireco Towers, LLC distributes its products through a nationwide network of OEM's, apparatus dealers, and loose equipment distributors.
