DALLAS, Texas — Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE:ACS), a premier provider of business process outsourcing and information technology solutions, announced today that it has formed an alliance with Microsoft to provide development and marketing resources to deliver its fire department records management system, ACS FIREHOUSE Software(R), on the Microsoft .NET platform. The partnership between ACS and Microsoft was announced at the Microsoft Fire Symposium in Redmond, Washington, and extends the formidable presence of both companies within the first responder and justice and public safety communities.

ACS FIREHOUSE Software is a comprehensive system encompassing fire department management needs from incident reporting and EMS/search and rescue reporting to staff activity and training, as well as apparatus, equipment, and inventory records management. Serving more than 10,000 clients, ACS FIREHOUSE Software is the most widely used fire department records management system in the nation.

"Another step in establishing a well-rounded justice and public safety practice, this alliance enhances ACS' ability to facilitate public safety projects," said Tom Burlin, Group President of ACS Government Solutions. "Our justice and public safety practice serves police, fire, court, and other emergency response agencies across the country and around the world with integrated technologies and business process outsourcing solutions."

ACS FIREHOUSE Software was selected by U.S. Department of Defense agencies for use in other countries and by several states for fire departments as an incident reporting solution. Embracing the .NET platform for the next generation of ACS FIREHOUSE Software solutions helps ACS ensure long-term support of its client base by providing capabilities such as standards-based Web services, rich integration, and versatile mobility.

"The Microsoft .NET platform is helping partners such as ACS transform the way justice and public safety agencies share information, collaborate with one another, and respond to criminal events and natural disasters," said Mike Byrne, Executive Director of Justice and Public Safety for Microsoft U.S. Public Sector. "Our alliance with ACS reflects our joint commitment to helping communities become better connected and bridge the traditional boundaries that historically have existed across government agencies."

ACS, a FORTUNE 500 company with more than 50,000 people supporting client operations in nearly 100 countries, provides business process outsourcing and information technology solutions to world-class commercial and government clients. The company's Class A common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "ACS". ACS makes technology work. Visit ACS on the Internet at http://www.acs-inc.com/ .
