INDIANAPOLIS, IN — In three days of FDIC, more than 600 firefighters tried on the new Warrior™ SCBA at the Sperian Fire booth.
Six firefighters won prizes —three iPods, a Nintendo Wii, a Playstation III and a 20” iMac computer, but no one has won the grand $250,000 prize.
The promotion attracted crowds of linemen, chiefs, captains, and safety officers. They tried on the sleek, ergonomic Warrior, took a ticket with a code number, and logged on to www.sperianfire.com on computers at the booth to see if they won.
“To thank firefighters for their input, support and initial field trials, we’ve launched the $250K Warrior Try-On at FDIC 2008,” said Jeff Shipley, Warrior Product Manager. “The Sweepstakes will run through July 31, 2008 or until 100,000 Try-On game pieces have been handed out, which ever comes first.”
For firefighters not attending FDIC 2008, Sperian Fire distributors will be visiting fire stations across North America with the Warrior and stacks of game pieces. Firefighters are encouraged to call their distributors, call Sperian at 800-682-0839, or visit their website to arrange a firehouse demonstration.
The Warrior, a new generation of SCBA, integrates and improves alarms and controls, removes dangerous snag and catch points, incorporates a simple and easy cylinder retention system, and emphasizes exceptional comfort and mobility.
