Responders practice emergency skills on SimBaby

The Fergus Daily Journal

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — Paramedics, paramedic students, physician and nurses were students involved in a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course conducted in Fergus Falls last weekend.

Randy Fischer, operations director for Ringdahl Ambulance Service coordinated the course and invited Barb Peterson from Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota to assist with the class by bringing a SimBaby.

SimBaby is a portable advanced infant patient simulator for team training. The doll has realistic anatomy and clinical functionality that enables simulation training and it includes software with video debriefing and an interactive technologically advanced manikin allowing learners to practice the emergency treatment of infant patients.
