LifeGuard RollTek®, first available to the fire industry in 2003, deploys within a quarter second to help protect firefighters involved in a rollover accident. In the event of a rollover, advanced seat belt technology works in sync with integrated airbags to greatly reduce the potential for death or serious injury. 

How it works: A sensor inside the cab continuously monitors the truck’s stability, and if it detects an imminent rollover, it initiates up to three events.

1. First, the system tightens every firefighter’s seat belt to keep them securely in their seats.
2. Second, it pulls down suspension seats to their lowest position to increase survivable space.
3. And third, the system inflates side airbags in every outboard position on the truck to cushion head impact and reduce head and neck injuries during the rollover.
