San Antonio PD Chooses DigitalPatroller for Their Most Extreme Environments

Officer Brian Phelt is no stranger to mobile video systems. During his service with the San Antonio Police Department, he has seen the progression of technology from the early days of analog systems, to the remarkable efficiency of today’s robust digital technology. “There’s no comparison”, said Officer Phelt. “Analog just doesn’t cut it anymore”.

When it came time to switch to digital, the department conducted an extensive review of systems on the market. After a 4-week trial, DigitalPatroller emerged as the clear winner. During the trial period alone, the DigitalPatroller system won several cases for SAPD.

Among them were a dismissed rudeness case, and several traffic cases, which all helped the department avoid costly lawsuits.

When stacked up against the competition, DigitalPatroller was a clear winner in several categories. Officers liked the ease of use, and the smooth integration with their existing laptops. Department leadership appreciated the video quality, audio quality, and the back-end investigator tools.

The DigitalPatroller staff began installing cameras in race cars over 17 years ago. Since 2000, the company has been creating, refining and installing video systems in police vehicles all across the country. The DigitalPatroller product was acquired by Integrian, Inc. in 2005, and is a great addition to Integrian’s other mobile digital video offerings in the Transit and Federal Government markets.
