Ledgewood, NJ - (June 23, 2008) - Major Firefighting Technology, the Rosenbauer fire apparatus distributor for the New Jersey, Long Island, and New York City areas, announces the addition of Matt Gerard as their Apparatus Specialist, Long Island.
Gerard, a seasoned fire industry professional brings Major Firefighting Technology considerable experience in emergency vehicle upfitting, as well as, firefighting field experience. As a new member of the Major Firefighting Technology team he will be responsible for developing the Long Island, Westchester County, and Putnam County territories, and bringing dedicated apparatus service to area fire departments.

A native of Patchogue, Long Island, Matt comes from a firefighting family with five generations of membership in the Patchogue Fire Department. Prior to joining Major Firefighting Technology, Matt held a number of positions performing mechanical and electronic services in the vehicle industry, including five years as an upfit technician where he specialized in Chief's cars and command units, and designed and installed emergency vehicle interiors.
