Firefighter hospitalized in Pa. house fire

The firefighter suffered a heat-related injury

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A McKeesport firefighter was treated and released from a hospital this morning after battling a fire.

The unidentified firefighter suffered a heat-related injury at the house fire on Stewart Street about 2:50 a.m., said Don Sabol, McKeesport deputy fire chief.

The home was unoccupied and no one else was injured in the fire, Sabol said.

The fire appears to have started in a second-floor bedroom and burned through the floor to the dining room, Sabol said.

Firefighters contained the fire to the home and cleared the scene about 5 a.m., Sabol said.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating what caused the fire.
