PETERSBURG, Ind. — Thursday morning, December 8, at approximately 7:22 a.m., Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2515 West C.R. 350 North. When firefighters made entry to the residence they found an unconscious female who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity will not be released until a positive identification has been made.

Indiana State Police Detectives were later notified that Andrew Satterfield, 36, of Petersburg, drove himself to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes to be treated for serious burns. Detectives confirmed that Satterfield resides at the residence that burned earlier near Petersburg.

Satterfield was later transported to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis to be treated for his injuries.

Indiana State Police Detectives suspect foul play and will continue their investigation. An autopsy will be performed later. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
