Use cool vests in hot weather

Name: Frank W. Curtis Jr., FF / Medic, Northside (N.Y.) Fire District
Rank: FF / MEDIC
Department:Northside Fire District, NY

During a fire , we make our firefighters don a "Cool Vest," which has inserts that are kept in out sub-zero freezers. We also employ the use of our town's ambulance and have firefighters sit in the patient compartment drinking water and cooling off via the ambulance's air conditioning system.
