Video: Firefighters rescue man impaled on fence

The man was trying to 'get a nice view of the city' when he got his legs stuck to the fence

LOS ANGELES — Video shows firefighters rescuing a man who accidentally impaled himself on an iron fence.

The unidentified man was reportedly intoxicated when he and another man attempted to climb a wall outside a Hollywood Hills home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man's companion made it over the fence, but he got his legs impaled on the iron poles.

Firefighters were called to the scene where they had to cut the bars and separate them from the man.

He was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The men told police that they just wanted a nice view of the city and were not intending to commit a crime.
